Mt. Seymour Preschool is located in a very spacious room in Mt. Seymour United Church. It has a wall of windows that look out upon a wooded area and allow us to view squirrels and birds in their natural habitats and to watch the trees change with the seasons. We feel this connection to the natural environment is especially beneficial to young children.
The large indoor space allows plenty of room for children to play and work in groups without teachers having to limit numbers. This leads to inclusive play and interactions. A washroom is adjacent to the preschool space and outfitted with child sized toilets and sink.
The
fenced outdoor space borders a scenic wooded area and allows
children to run, ride bikes and scooters and climb and slide on the
playground climber. There is also a large outdoor sandbox which accommodates
many children and a variety of digging tools and equipment.
Everyone who views the space appreciates the open, airy feel of it and the variety of materials and equipment we have.
Dramatic Play Area The roomy dramatic play area encourages inclusive play because we don't have to limit the number of children
Construction Area Our large and well stocked construction area encourages multiple constructions and lots of cooperative play
