3 year-old Class operates on Tuesday and Thursday
9:00am to 11:30am (2.5 hours)
The class ratio is 18 Children, 3 Educators
4 year-old Class operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
9:00am to 1:00pm (4hours)
The class ratio is 19 Children, 3 Educators
3/4 year-old Class operates on Tuesday and Thursday
12:30pm to 3:30pm (3 hours)
The class ratio is 12 Children, 2 Educators
We follow the North Vancouver School District calendar year. We open the day after Labor Day in September and close during the third week of June. We are closed for all Statutory Holidays and for two (2) weeks during Christmas and two (2) weeks for Spring Break.
The preschool is closed for four (4) Professional Development Days each year for our educators to attend courses and workshops directly related to Early Childhood Care and Education. The dates coincide with the Public School District wide Professional Days. Refunds are not given for these Holidays or Professional Development Days.
Registration Fee: $90.00 (non-refundable)
3 year-old Program - 2 days per week: $245.00 per month
4 year-old Program - 3 days per week: $475.00 per month
3/4 year-old Program - 2 days per week: $225.00 per month
Society Fee: $5.00
We encourage registered families to join our Non-profit Society. With a nominal fee, you will become a member of Mount Seymour United Church Child Development Society and have voting rights at our Annual General Meeting and Board Meetings.
Please notify the Preschool Coordinator if you will be applying for the Affordable Child Care Benefit Program through the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Families that earn up to $111,000.00 may qualify for funding.
An Emergency Bursary Program also capable of subsidizing fees operates through the preschool for families that qualify. Please contact the Preschool Coordinator for more information.
We understand that circumstances may change for your child or family during the course of the school year. However, as a non-profit society, we rely on student fees to operate the preschool and empty spaces significantly impact the preschool’s finances. In the event that you need to withdraw your child, we require notice in writing (or by email) at least one full calendar month in advance (eg. notice given October 15th will be effective December 1st). Provided sufficient notice is given in writing, you will not be responsible for monthly fees after the effective date of withdrawal.
Because of the difficulty in filling spaces at the preschool for a short period, withdrawals will not be permitted for the months of May and June. The last date for withdrawal for the current school year will therefore be March 31st (for withdrawal effective May 1st).
This policy applies to all withdrawals after a registration package has been submitted (ie. notice must be given in writing by no later than July 31st if your child will not be attending the preschool in September). If sufficient notice is not provided, your security deposit will be retained by the preschool.
In no circumstances will the non-refundable registration fee be returned.
In the event of exceptional circumstances, this policy may be waived at the discretion of the Board of Directors. We encourage you to contact the Board of Directors through the preschool regarding your specific circumstances.
